Meet John Peters

I’m a former financial advisor-turned-travel pro who has a deep affinity for good food and wines, all things French, and crafting seamless-from-start-to-finish vacations for my clients.

My Story

I got one of my first geography lessons—and a lesson on the finer things in life—while tagging along with my father on his visits to our local wine store. The alluring wine labels spoke of far-off locales like Sicily and Piedmont, and of course, Burgundy and Bordeaux.

Little did I know then that those places would play a central role in my life. After studying French in school, I got the chance to spend seven weeks immersed in the language in Paris; I stepped off the metro on a sunny June morning and voila!—I was hooked.

My love affair with France led me to culinary studies at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and even to purchasing a pied a terre in the Marais; it was my home away from home. I also traveled extensively throughout Italy, as an importer of fine wines and artisanal foods. In between, there were trips to Spain, Portugal, Russia, Argentina, the Caribbean and beyond.

Embracing the Uncommon

Whether traveling for work or for pleasure, I always sought out the uncommon experiences that turn a trip into a true journey. I aim to do the same for my clients today.

Before founding Voilà, I was a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ for 10+ years. While I often longed for more vacation time (France was always calling!), I'm grateful for my career in financial services as it allowed me to hone my analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and drive to safeguard my clients’ investments.

I use those “left-brain” skills today to ensure your escape is truly seamless, safe, and worry free. Then, I draw on my own extensive personal travel experience and network of vetted travel partners to add in experiences that bring unforgettable vibrancy and full-flavored flair to your journey.
